  • When and where will the Suvāsini Pujā be held?

Suvāsini Pujā will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Bhakta Samaj, 147 Frost Rd, Tyngsborough, MA 01879, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

  • What is the Significance of this Pujā?

Our Sanāthana Dharma emphasizes that women can not only participate in rituals, but also be worshipped. It is believed that the Divine Mother manifests in the female form. An easy method to obtain the Divine grace is to worship this form by invoking the Supreme power within each Suvāsini (also referred to as Sumangali).

  • Who can participate?

Any woman who is currently married (Sumangali) can participate.

  • Is registration free?

Yes, registration is FREE for the event. This event is entirely run on donations and sponsorship from devotees.

  • Who is organizing the event and why?

Chinmayā Mission Boston is conducting this event to celebrate  the 20th anniversary of Chinmayā Mission Boston, which falls on June 14th.

  • Where can I offer donations?

Sponsor/Donate by check, payable to Chinmayā Mission Boston, by specifying “Triśati Suvāsini Pujā” in the memo, and mail to:

  • What time should I arrive at the venue?

It is recommended that you arrive by 8:00 AM to give yourself and other suvāsinis sufficient time to get ready for the pujā.

  • What should I do when I arrive at the venue?

Please check-in at the help desk with a volunteer. Provide your name and email used at the time of registration. Further instructions will be provided and volunteers will be available to guide you throughout the event.

  • What can I expect during the event?

You will be given a saree, that you have to change into and a light snack, if needed.  Pujā will take about 2-3 hours to worship each Suvāsini individually according to the Triśati nāmāvali.  It will help if everyone is assembled at 8 am so the pujā can proceed without delay.

Lunch will be served to all 300 suvāsinis together at the same time, at the end of the pujā.  You will be expected to be present from 8am to 2pm, until the end of lunch. You will not be able to leave in between.  At around 2pm, Lalithā Kalyāṇam will start.  You can stay back and enjoy the Divine wedding also.

  • What should I wear?

You will be provided a saree (6-yards) at the venue, to change into, before the Suvāsini Pujā. If not already in a saree, ensure that you bring all necessary inner garments and blouse.

  • Should I wear a 9-yards saree?

You will have to change into the 6 yards saree that will be provided, so a 9-yards is not required.

  • Should I register before the event?

It is highly recommended that you register ASAP for the event so we would be able to obtain an accurate head count for planning and logistics purposes.

  • What if I register and cannot attend the event?

WhatsApp  978-684-2646 if you are unable to make it post registration.  We will call those who are on the waiting list to see if they can take your place.

  • Are there any rituals to observe before the event?

Your morning ablutions shall include a head bath (bath including washing your hair). Please use the bathroom facilities before your bath as it is preferable that you wait to use the bathroom until after lunch.  Fasting is recommended. For those who are unable to fast, light refreshments (example: fruit / snack) will be provided for all suvāsinis after check-in.  Please drink only tea or coffee at home before you come, if at all.

During the Lalitā Triśati Suvāsini pujā, the Divine Mother manifests in the female form; we request you to observe silence during the event. Feel free to recite slokas / prayers in silence.

  • Will food be provided at the event? Can I eat breakfast?

Light refreshments (fruits / nuts or kanjee) before pujā is available for registered Suvāsinis. Lunch will be served after the pujā at 1:00 PM.

  • How long will the event last?

The event is planned from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We highly encourage you to be present sufficiently before time to help start the pujā on time. It would aid in proceeding with the event according to schedule.  Once you check-in at the help desk, you will be given a saree and other “Sowbhāgya” items. You will be provided appropriate accommodations / privacy to change into the saree. Volunteers will further guide you for “Nalangu” (haldi / kumkum will be applied on your feet) and then to breakfast before the pujā starts.
